Nationwide Service

More and more customers are shipping their vintage turntables to me for repair. This page contains the details!

Console Parts REMOVAL

UNPLUG IT!
If your turntable is coming out of a console stereo, any floor model system, or a multi-function bookshelf system you will need to remove it from that system before shipping it. Don't worry! It isn't difficult and I can help you over the phone or with a video call. Get in touch and we will make it happen.

Packaging Turntables

DO package your turntable WELL!
Use a box large enough to protect your equipment
USE MORE PACKAGING MATERIAL THAN YOU FEEL IS NECESSARY!

DO pay special attention to the SPINDLE For vintage changers.  If it can't be easily removed, it needs added padding to avoid accidentally puncturing the shipping box or getting bent.
DO Secure the TONEARM (and BALANCE ARM if equipped) with tape if possible.
For most belt-drive and direct-drive turntables, remove the PLATTER and package separately.
DON'T send EXTRA PARTS or removeable parts unless they are part of the repair.
DON'T ship your DUST COVER if it is easily removed.
I wrap the entire turntable in a shipping wrap similar to Saran wrap. It holds everything together very well.

USE MORE PACKAGING MATERIAL THAN YOU FEEL IS NECESSARY!  - If you have the store package it, the probably won't use enough packaging. They seldom do!

And finally,
USE MORE PACKAGING MATERIAL THAN YOU FEEL IS NECESSARY!
